Precision

Precision means not only that we hold our parts to the highest NADCA standards for cast tolerances, but also that all TCDC plants boast state-of-the-art in-house machine shops. This rare capability makes TCDC an ideal supplier for parts requiring custom or close-tolerance machining.

Full-Service

Full-service means that we are ready to work in partnership with our customers in every phase of the engineering process.

During part design, our knowledge of the die cast process allows us to suggest modifications that can reduce tooling and metal costs..

Twin City Die Castings, Inc.

Twin City Die Castings is a full service, precision die caster. Family owned since being founded in 1919, TCDC has grown to 3 locations with 200,000 sq. feet of space with approximately 19 die cast machines ranging in size from 600 to 1000 tons.

Our Minneapolis location is home to aluminum die cast machines and over a dozen precision CNC machines. Multi cavity dies, up 18 cavities, and close tolerance machining are some of the specialties of this plant.

In 1989 we expanded to Watertown, South Dakota. With 70,000 sq. feet of space, the Watertown facility has 8 aluminum die cast machines. Automated machining lines with robots and in-cell pressure testing is one of many items that separates our Watertown plant from other die casters.

In 2000, we opened up our newest plant in Monticello, Minnesota to serve the growing needs for magnesium die castings. This state-of-the art plant is equipped with the most technologically advanced equipment in the world. The Buhler casting machines, Reis trim presses, Rauch magnesium furnaces, and ABB robots will impress you with their efficiency and consistent processes that turn out high quality magnesium and aluminum parts. As with all TCDC locations, a fully capable machining department is an integral part of this facility. The Monticello location has made a name for itself in cosmetic parts with class “A” finishes and thin wall die castings.

Twin City Die Castings is TS 16949:2002 certified in all 3 locations.

Software

The Simtec flow, temperature, and distortion simulation software we operate can add further insight, refining our mold design and accurately predicting the mechanical properties of a casting before tool construction even begins.

Prototypes

Prototypes often help customers hit their market windows. To meet this need, TCDC operates two rapid prototyping machines as well as maintaining affiliations with the highest quality metal prototype manufacturers.

Continual Fine-Tuning

On long runs, TCDC will work to fine-tune production, ensuring that our customers achieve maximum benefit from our experience and efficiency.

TCDC is TS 16949:2002 Certified.
